How your data is handled

What this tool keeps

Your applications (company, role, dates, notes and the rest) are saved in this browser on this device, under your own account. If someone else signs in to the tracker on the same browser, they cannot see yours. They are not sent to our servers today. If you clear your browser data or switch device, they will not follow you. Use the Download backup button in the tracker to save a file, for example in your own Google Drive, and the Restore from backup button to bring it back on any device. The file stays with you; we never see it.

We keep the email address you sign in with, and a record that your email has access to the Job Tracker.

Signing in

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, or with Google. We do not keep a password for you.

Who can see what

Because your applications stay in your browser, nobody on our side can read them. The admin page shows only who has access, not what they track.

Calendar links

The Add to Google Calendar button opens Google Calendar with the interview title, time and your job link filled in. That happens in your browser when you click it, and we do not see it. Google handles it under its own privacy policy. The Download .ics button saves a file on your device. Your private notes are never put in a link or a file.

Research links

The research buttons open a Google or LinkedIn search in your own browser, with the company name and role filled in. Google or LinkedIn sees that search under its own privacy policy. We do not see it, fetch the results, or keep any names you look up. The message drafts are built in your browser and are not saved. The links to Resume Check and AI Interview Coach open those separate tools and carry only a tag saying you came from the tracker. No application, resume or job details are sent.

People you save

You can save the name, email and phone number of recruiters and other people you speak to for a job. These details stay in your browser and in your own backup file. They are not sent to our servers, and they are not in the CSV export. Keep only what you need, delete people you no longer need, and stop contacting anyone who asks you to.

Google Drive (optional)

Drive sync is optional. If you connect it, the app keeps one file in your own Google Drive with your applications and contacts, and updates it on each device you connect. Google asks you to allow access to only the file this app creates. Your access stays in your browser while the page is open, is not saved, and is revoked when you disconnect. We do not see or store the file or the access. Disconnecting leaves the file in your Drive, so delete it there if you no longer want it. Google handles it under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

To remove your applications from this browser, delete them in the tracker or clear this site's data in your browser settings. To close your access record, write to the support address in the footer.

Changes

When applications move to your account in a later update, this page will say so before it happens, and your existing data will be copied, never removed without your say-so.
